A heavy heart

Remember my last post?
One of the things I had resolved to do was to visit my aunt in the nursing home at least once a week...but alas...the day after I wrote my post, she passed away.
I am sad that I won't get to visit her any more.....but I am happy that her suffering is finally over.
At age 55, she suffered a bad stroke.  Her right side was paralyzed.  She spent the following 29 years in the nursing home....and when she suffered a heart attack this past Summer, we could all tell that she was slowly fading away.
I'm the executor of her will, so I've been swamped with arrangements and paperwork.
Her funeral was on Tuesday, January 12.  It was a cold and windy day, with a dusting of snow.  The funeral was beautiful, and I felt a sense that she was telling me she was happy once more.

Rest in Peace dearest Aunt Susie. I love you.

  1. You and your precious family are in our prayers. I know that you know, it's not over - we will all be together, young, beautiful, healthy and in the presence of God everyday - forever! And that is what keeps me going.

    Blessings ♥

  3. I am sorry to hear about your Aunt, but it sounds like you were there for her and gave her comfort by being there. I know she is at peace and filled with joy in heaven, but those of us left behind, still feel the loss. Hugs

  10. So very sorry for your family's loss. We've had a lot of deaths for us since Christmas. Not a pleasant way to start off the new year. Hoping the memories of her will comfort you.
