Good morning my friends!
First off, I want to assure you that I haven't forgotten about the Spring Doll Challenge pictures. I haven't received several pictures yet, and have been waiting for them. If I don't receive them today, I will be posting the ones I do get...so...gals....please send in your pictures!
OK...with that out of the way...I just HAD to share these pictures with you.
Maria & Petie came over yesterday so that we could begin work on one of the many projects we have been talking about for a long time. We started making a prim/folk art wall hanging for Fall. Allie & Peter were playing in the room next to my sewing room (recently vacated when Scott & Steph moved out last weekend). Peter is one busy boy, and was walking back and forth between the rooms. He decided to get into the crafting spirit and made his own fun....
First he pulled half of the stuffing out of my new box |
....then he crawled into the box.... |
...then he starting pulling the stuffing back in on top of himself..... |
....barely visible...... |
...PEEK A BOO! |
Crawling in and out |
Oh gosh...look at that face! |
I sure love this little guy! :-)

Now that Scott & Steph have moved to their own home again...I get to decorate this upstairs extra bedroom. I'm so anxious to get started and have been browsing Pinterest for just the right inspiration!
Here is my before picture!
(Yes, pardon the mess...they are still moving some of their things...but the bed, bench and cabinet are mine.)
The walls are in need of repair and the windows will be replaced in July. We figure this used to be the 'servant quarters' in our big old house, because of the narrow, steep stairs that lead to the kitchen below...you can see where they go down just to the left of the old brick chimney. The hardwood floors are in wonderful condition and on the floor I have a wool rug in reds, creams and navy. I'm not sure the rug will be staying, as I think I would like another color scheme in this room. I will paint the trim cream to match the new windows, and that will give me more options for wall color. I am also contemplating wallpaper or wainscotting on the walls...unsure yet. If you would like to help me with ideas, I'm all ears!! I'm looking for a light, bright, airy feel, with a touch of prairie farmhouse style. I'm fond of greens, warm tans.....I'm open to new ideas! I want this to be a cozy, welcoming retreat for our guests. Send me pictures of some inspiring rooms that you like!
Thanks for your help!

ReplyDeleteI'll be watching for photos of your make over..........older homes have so much character and the color scheme sounds perfect!
Hope you enjoy the process.

Kids know how to have fun with anything that is around, lol.
ReplyDeleteThat room reminds me of the house I grew up in, had gables so the rooms upstairs were sloped. My room was like that, had a door with stairs that led to the kitchen.

My son LOVED to play in my box of stuffing just like Petie! I miss those days! My doll is still naked but I have hopes that she'll change her ways and become a bit more modest in the next few days.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the last pic and the Psalms goes perfect with it!
