The weekend started out fun but ended a bit scary.

Hello and Happy Sunday evening all -  I have a few things to post about....first off... on Friday we were at 'our' new house for most of the afternoon while it was being inspected.  Nothing too serious to report...the inspector said it's a old, old house, but it has been well maintained....that's one more hurdle toward closing the deal.  It seems that the more time we spend over there, the more anxious we are to move in.

Saturday dawned sunny and quite lovely.  I talked Mr. Whimzie into taking me for a 1 1/2 hour drive to pick up that hoosier cabinet I had posted about the other day.  I contacted the seller and after a few extra pictures and learning a bit more about it, I decided to buy it.  It was in the town where I grew up...and the lady was a dear....said she hated to see it go, but she just didn't have time to complete the renovation of it.  I promised her I would send pictures of the finished piece.  After leaving there, we stopped at my parents for a surprise visit and a bite of lunch.  While driving through downtown, we noticed that the local antique store had lots of goodies out on the sidewalk, so Mr.Whimzie and I took a stroll downtown after lunch and I am so glad we did!  The owner of the shop was really dealing and he let me have all the crocks or jugs I wanted for $5 a piece...and he gave me a great deal on a beautiful copper washtub too.  I came away feeling like I had hit the jackpot.  Here's a couple of pictures of my goodies.

Today after church, coffee and the paper, hubby and I decided to get some yard work done...but it was cut short around 2:30 when he came over to me and said he was going in to lay down...that he wasn't feeling well.  I went to check on him about 10 minutes later and he was pale and his heart was really racing FAST!  This has happened a few times before, but not in a long time, so I told him we were going to get him checked out.  I took him to the convenient care nearby.  They did an EKG and said things didn't look normal, so he's getting some more tests done.  He did start to feel much better after an hour, but I am making sure that they get to the bottom of things this time.  I certainly would appreciate your prayers dear ones.  Thanks so much.  Gotta run now, but have a great week!  Prim Hugs to you all.

  1. Wendy,

The hoosier looks awesome. Can't wait to see it finished. Great deal on the crocks and wash boiler. I would definitely insist that they find out what is going on with your hubby...things don't sound right. Sending thoughts and prayers your way.

  4. Wendy...prayers to your hubby! That can be so scary, I know. I have Atrial Fibulation, which means my heart isn't working right all the time. I haven't had any spells in over a year that I know of, I can usually tell when my heart is out of rhythm. The meds that I'm on have been good at controlling it, but it is very scary when it happens. Possible that that is what is going on with your hubby. Yes, make sure those tests are done!! You got some wonderful deals on those crocks and jugs.
    Take care!
