Crazy Weather!

Good morning Prim Folk!

I had a busy day yesterday with a vet appointment and doctor appointment...then helped our son, Drew, in his garden...getting it ready for planting.

Hubby and I met at the ice cream place down the road on our way home, and shortly thereafter it started to rumble.  I heard our neighbor across the road yell to me that we had a tornado watch, which meant that conditions were favorable for development of one.  I wondered why our son, Drew, a meteorologist, hadn't let me know right away!  I called and called...no answer...I tried Maria's phone...still no answer.  Turns out they were voting for the school budget, but by the time he did call me the storm was fully upon us, with heavy rain, wind, lightning and hail.  It was a bit scary, but nothing like the poor souls in Oklahoma have gone through.

I took these pictures before the storm hit.

As the Mister and I stood on the porch after most of the storm went by, we heard an odd sound...like constant thunder rumbling, but a little different.  There was rotation as the storm passed over and to east over the lake, but no confirmation of a tornado.  When we do have tornados in our area, they are nowhere near as severe and huge as those in the midwest....but they do occur.
We had a couple more less severe storms come through up until about midnight.  No harm done and we thankful to God for that.  There were some trees down and a barn blew over across the lake, but it is a quiet morning once again.  The best thing about these storms is that we received a lot of much needed rain!

I didn't get a chance to take the pictures I had promised because of all the bad weather rolling through.  Hope to do it today, but there are indications that more bad storms may be on the way..so we will see.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
God bless!

  5. There was one spotted near Copake. I am not sure if that is near you. Glad you made it through the storm ok!
I had two of my kids out on buses (baseball) away yesterday when the storms came through and I was quite nervous until I had them home with me.

We had got hit here in central MA two years ago. Never imagined a tornado would come here! It was unheard of. Scared the you know what out of me! We only had lots of tree debris thank goodness.
