Another Spring Doll Challenge creation to show you!

Happy Friday everyone!

I received an email from Linda at Lutka and Co...she had joined in the Spring Doll challenge that I have going on now...and look what she created!
Here is the story behind Linda's doll...in her words:

" I took your pattern and reduced it to half the original size (I like smaller dolls).  She stands approximately 10" tall. I decided to make her into a fairy.  She wears a pink and yellow petal skirt with a yellow felt tunic, pink shoes, and petaled acorn cap. Her hair is made of wool roving.  I inserted pipe cleaners in her arms and legs, which made stuffing easier since she is so small, and it had the added benefit of making her pose-able.  The only deviation from your pattern is on her feet.  Since I reduced the size, I was unable to turn the foot part of the pattern after sewing.  As for her facial features, I went with an Edith Flack Ackley style.  She came out looking a bit serious, but I think she's still cute ;). "
Linda also told me that at the beginning of the year, she challenged herself to create a doll each month...what fun!
Thank you for your submission Linda - She's a beautiful doll!   You were so creative and I love the ideas you came up with!  Didn't she do a great job gals??

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
God bless.

  1. O. MY. GOSH!! This doll is BEAUTIFUL!! So creative and lovely to look at. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Linda's doll is very beautiful. I'm afraid I might not get mine done in time. I cut her out and then got really sick with bronchitis. Can't work on anything involving "dust". The Amish doll I saw recently here was beautiful too!

  3. Linda did a beautiful job!!! My doll sits on my work table completely naked...the poor dear. When I was with my family last week my sister and mother worked on our dolls but none of us finished. :0( I'm still hoping to finish mine though. :0)

  4. Oh how pretty! I love Linda's creation! Very pretty and colorful also :)

  5. What a beautiful doll, wonderful work Linda! Got to get to work on mine, promise to have her done Wendy!! Deb

  6. Thanks again Wendy for the doll challenge - it was fun and just what I needed! :)

  7. I love her, she did a great job on her. Can't wait to see the others.

  8. Such a sweet fairy!!! I got some "git up and gittin' busy" to do. One small problem...my sewing machine decided to "git up and go" and not in a good way!!

    Judy :(

  9. that's a beautiful fairy! Just love her!

  10. Absolutely stunning!Have a blessed day! Laura
