Mother Nature's having fun & Some Great Finds

Good Monday Morning all!

Hope you had a lovely weekend!  Mother Nature decided to play a little trick on us during the night and dumped 5" of snow around the area.  We lost several branches from trees and the bushes were bent to the ground with the weight of it.  In Spring the snow around here is always wet and heavy.

Seems like this past Friday was just a dream...it was sunny, warm and in the mid-70's.  I took a little ride to pick up some new chicks (picture post coming tomorrow) and stopped at an estate sale along the way. I'm so glad I did, because I scored!  I got a great cupboard for $50 (going to repaint it) and a cross-stitched sampler that was framed and marked $1...they gave it to me free.  The sampler wasn't well framed, so I took it out, washed it, then 'aged' it a bit...I'll be framing it later this week.  I think it will look quite prim when I am done.
I'm not a 'blue' person, so this will be getting repainted and distressed.

On Saturday, we stopped by a friend's house to pick up wool they had sheered from their lambs. I love it, as it is curly and makes great Santa beards!  Afterwards, we stopped at our buddy, Mike's house and he gave me this wonderful old whiskey barrel!  We are making a trade for an old chair that is in our barn, which he plans to refinish.  I'm going to use the barrel as a side table on the porch and you can be certain I'll be decorating the top for the seasons!

Smidgen has decided that the best thing to do on a cold and snowy day is to nap on the dining room chair.

If you joined by "What's the Buzz All About" swap, I will be sending out your swap partners later today.  Please let me know if you don't get an email from me.  Thanks to all who joined!

Wishing you many blessings for the week ahead Friends.

  10. Oh goodness I feel your pain regarding the snow/damage - lost some large 'bits 'n pieces' here too :-( If only winter would grasp that her time is over (for this year) lol.

Can't wait to see the outcome with your new cupboard!
