Welcome to the

SPRING DOLL CHALLENGE!
Some of you may have joined in my Basil the Bunny challenge two years ago, and know the basic idea behind the challenge, but for you Newbies out there...here's what the doll challenge is all about.
* I have created an original doll pattern and I am providing the free pattern for you to use for this challenge.
* You print out the pattern - you may to use it as is, or you are allowed to enlarge it...depending on what your vision of the doll is.
* PLEASE comment on this post that you will be accepting the challenge, so I have an idea of how many gals are joining in the fun.
*You can create any type of doll you wish from the pattern. It could be male or female, painted, stained, with whatever hair, face and clothing you can dream up. It can be an every day doll, a seasonal doll...gee...even a Christmas doll is okay by me! Just let your mind wander a bit to get a plan in your head, and then run with it!
*Once you have finished your wonderful creation, please email me a picture of your completed project by
May 12th, if you wish to be included in the big post I will be doing to show off everyone's creations. Email pictures to RWPrimCrafts@aol.com. Please include your name, blog, and a little story describing your inspiration in making the doll.
*I'd love to have you pass the word around about the challenge too, if possible....put a link on your sidebar (feel free to right-click the image above to use and link back to my blog) or do a blog post.
* There is no pressure to this challenge, and your doll can be as intricate or as simple as you wish. The main object to the SPRING DOLL CHALLENGE is to challenge yourself and your creativity! Have fun with it...don't stress too much.
I do ask a few simple things:
Please do not copy my pattern and sell or claim it as your own.
If you wish to sell your doll creation after the challenge is over (Etsy, Ebay, EZshoppe, Facebook, selling blog, etc)..I ask that you give me - Ravenwood Whimzies Primitives & Folk Art credit as the pattern maker.
If you decide to use this free pattern for future creations that you intend to sell on any venue, please remember to give credit to me as the pattern maker.
If you have any questions about the challenge, please do not hesitate to jot me an email.
Remember, this challenge is for fun....if life happens to throw you a few curve balls, and you are unable to complete the challenge by May 12th, don't fret about it. I'll be happy to make a post showing off your creation when you do get it done.
I think that about covers it all gals!

Below you will find the pattern. It contains two pages of pieces. Right click the pattern pieces, save to your computer, then print out each page, full size on an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper.
Thank you for joining in the fun!
I look forward to seeing your creations...I still haven't decided exactly what my doll is going to be, but I'm looking forward to getting started.
I will take the challenge. I've never made a doll but it was on my "bucket list" so I guess there's no time like the present. Thanks for the pattern to get me started.
ReplyDeleteI used to make a lot of cloth dolls and enjoyed it very much, but it has been a long time since I've tried. If I can get a copy of your pattern printed out, I might give it a try, just for fun! Thanks for this challenge. I very much look forward to seeing what beautiful dolls others come up with. PS..I enjoy looking at your blog!!
