Good morning everyone!
Hope you all had a blessed Easter. We were very busy all weekend, with a house full of company and lots of peeps (hehe) around the table at Easter dinner.
Saturday morning showed the promise of being a beautiful day, as we headed up with Scott, Steph & Allison, to visit my aunt in the nursing home. We took her a pretty Easter arrangement to help brighten her day...and she got to meet the newest member of our family, baby Allison! She was, of course, tickled pink! As we headed on home after our visit, we took time to stop at the local Amish/Mennonite market to grab some goodies that we can only get there. We love poking around in the store and are always meet with the cheerful faces of the traditionally dressed women who work there.
After our visit to Sauders, we continued on down the road and were lucky enough to lunch at
Mac's drive-in on their opening day for this year. What a pleasure to have the sun streaming in the car windows, while the Mister and I feasted on juicy cheeseburgers, fresh fries and onion rings, and for me...a root beer float! Yumm.....my mouth is watering right now just thinking about it.
The sun shone so warm and bright that I told the Mister that we needed to now hurry on home and work in the yard! Whoopie! We cleaned and burned up brush and branches and cleaned out the chicken coop too. It was so nice to be outside working again....but it was short lived, as by Sunday afternoon, cold air, rain and flurries returned to the Finger Lakes. Hopefully it will only last a few days.
Sunday we had a house full, with much of my family coming to spend the day. It is always a little bittersweet on holidays for my hubby, since his family is in Idaho. However, with grandbabies, 2 visiting dogs, and a few joke-sters in the bunch, it was a lively and fun day. We feasted on ham, cheesy potatoes, corn casserole, salads, deviled eggs (compliments of the girls) and finished off with some yummy desserts made by my beautiful daughter-in-laws.
The highlight of the day was when Peter Cottontail himself arrived at our door!
Here's little Peter Cottontail! His Mommy, Maria, made him an outfit, complete with hat with ears, a fuzzy chest and of course, a big fluffy tail. |

Yesterday Mr. Whimzie took an extra day off, and we puttered around the house cleaning up and doing a few odds and ends. I decided to start ripping the old shower stall out in our master bath. The drain leaked and the shower base didn't drain well, so we haven't been able to use it at all. I was planning to tile it this week, but once the Mister saw the shoddy plumbing job that was done, he decided he wanted to redo it all, so I'll have to wait a little while longer to complete my part of the project.
Today it's back to my sewing room to complete several unfinished projects and work on a few new things too.
I'll be posting again tomorrow with pictures of a couple of giveaways I won recently...lucky me!
Have a blessed day everyone.
Sounds like a wonderful weekend, Wendy.

What an exciting time you all had. Sweet photos of family. My DH took advantage of the sunshine too and did some yard work. Twisted his ankle a bit, but still enoyed the fresh air.
