Morning Prim Peeps
I've been so busy most of the week completing projects, that I haven't blogged much. However, today I have a few things to share with you.
On Wednesday I was sitting here browsing your blogs and sipping away on my coffee, as the very welcome sun trickled in through the window and warmed my back....I decided at the last minute to check to see what was new on Craig's list. WOW...was I glad I did, because by 11 am, I was the new owner of this wonderful brown/cream check chair - for only $50! It's even a recliner. I quickly decorated it up with some of my favorite swap pillows....it's so comfy and I can imagine spending many hours reading and relaxing (now, if I could just FIND those hours somewhere - lol)
Before I left to pick up the chair, I grabbed my camera. It was such a wonderfully sunny day that I thought to myself....mmmm...maybe I will find something interesting to photograph. I'm certainly glad I did, because just up the road from our house, there was this huge flock of snow geese!
I tried everything to make them fly up so I could get an awesome 'action' shot, but beeping the horn and yelling didn't work! I see and hear large flocks of geese, Canadian and Snow geese, fly over every day. They spend the night on the lake below and fly up to the farmer fields during the day. It's an awesome site that I wish you all could experience. Years ago when our son, Scott, was just a baby, we rented a home for about a year, on the west side of Cayuga Lake here in the Finger Lakes, and we got to experience the same thing. Of course, at our home for the past 20+ years, we would hear the geese fly over, but they were usually up fairly high, as we weren't near water. It is a thrill to live near Owasco Lake now (just one lake over) and hear the wonderous sound of the geese flocks overhead...they are so close I can see their feet!
I tried to take a few other pictures as I was driving along, but driving and photography don't mix too well, and they aren't worth posting.
Hubby returned from a short business trip to South Carolina last night. I made stuffed green peppers and some homemade rolls for dinner. I tried out a new recipe for the rolls....they take a little over an hour to complete, so are great for that last minute decision of what to have to go along with dinner! I thought I would share the recipe today, but this post is already getting rather long, and I don't want to keep you...there are so many interesting blogs to visit!
I'll share the recipe with you all on Monday.
We're still anxiously awaiting the birth of our grand-daughter...her due date is Tuesday...I'll be sure to let you know when she's born!
Of course, with St. Patty's Day coming up, I figured it would be fun to post this picture of Peter, getting into the spirit of things.
Wonderful chair find, love the tan and white checks, and Peter sure is a cute little Leprechaun! How exciting to be getting another sweet grandbaby to love on.

Sheila
Hi Wendy! Awesome score on the chair, it looks great! I love the finger lakes, I grew up not too far in Elmira:) Prayers for a healthy delivery of new baby and Peter sure does make one cute little leprechaun!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend ~ Lori
Awesome craigslist find!
ReplyDeleteI love to see geese too, we seeing them traveling through twice a year here in Maine. My parents have them year round at their house in Ohio and boy oh boy do they make a mess of the sidewalks!
I look forward to seeing new baby pics, nothing is as sweet as a newborn baby :)

ReplyDeletelove for you x
Great find on that chair Wendy, it is lovely and looks right at home with your lovely pillows decorating it. The geese are flying over our heads here in B.C. as well and two days ago the robins returned. The forest is alive with their chirping and trilling now, I even heard a blackbird singing a couple of days ago so Spring is certainly on it's way. Love the picture of Peter, too cute! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you that your granddaughter turns up sooner rather than later, have a wonderful weekend!
