A day of Mourning set aside

As I went about my busy schedule this weekend, I did not have time or the desire to seek out the news....to be reminded of the tragedy that had occurred Friday in Connecticut.  As a mother, one of my worst fears has been losing a child... I wanted to concentrate on family...do for them...hug them...spend time with them.   But this morning, as things become more clear and less busy, I needed to take the time to put faces to the names....read a little about the lives of those lost...of the lives cut short.

I cannot yet wrap my mind around how anyone could harm a child...be so violent...I cannot comprehend.  I could fill my post with my feelings on our society and it's part in all this, but what good would that do.  I cannot just act like nothing has happened and post a happy post of my Christmas decorating...when there is so much suffering...so like many other bloggers, I'm taking today off from blogging to remember those precious little ones and the teachers who died trying to save them.
Do not let the gunman have any more power over anyone....but...do pray for him too.

I will pray off and on all day for those suffering so much, and ask God to cradle them in the palms of his hands and to comfort them in their overwhelming grief.
Hug your loved ones today and every day....put aside petty battles and grudges...let love show in all you do.

Have a lovely day.
