Why I've been so quiet lately............

Whew!  What a busy time I've had lately...so busy I haven't been posting much, but rest assured, I HAVE been busy....with what you ask???

A BABY SHOWER!
Yep!  This past Saturday, my lovely daughter-in-law, Stephanie, helped me throw a SURPRISE baby shower for daughter-in-law, Maria, who is expecting her little bundle of joy in late December.  We had such fun, planning, plotting and getting ready for the shower.  Drew, the Father to be, helped to get Maria here with a most elaborate deception...and we really got her!  SURPRISE.

Here's a few pictures of the day, and also, towards the end of the shower pictures, I'll show you a picture of the baby quilt I made Maria...which is what has been keeping me so busy lately.

The cake I made for the baby shower - It's a boy!

Little 'baby carriage' - it was supposed to be made of a big watermelon...little did I know big ones are impossible to find this time of year.
Maria and her friends fill their plates full of luncheon goodies

Maria opening gifts...this time a beautiful diaper 'cake' made by Steph

Yummy 'baby blue' punch recipe I found online...slurp!

DIL, Steph...also a Mommy to be come March :-)
Maria with the quilt I made her.

A fun time was had by all.  While us ladies were clucking away, the guys feasted on goodies from the party and then retreated to the woods (including my Dad and nephew, Jake) to do a little target shooting, build a fire and commune with nature - GUY STUFF, but they had a great time too, so it was a wonderful day all around.

I also wanted to share a couple other things with you too.....like this ADORABLE snowman I just HAD to have from Lottie at Sweetpeas Primitives...I fell in love with him when she mentioned on her blog that she would be selling him on Ebay...and to my delight...I was the only bidder so I got him at a fabulous price.  LOVE HIM!

This morning it finally happened....I've been waiting quite some time, but we finally got our first BLUE egg from our special Americauna chickens!  Dear sweet Buttercup laid this nice little egg....the blue is kinda hard to see in the picture because of the darn flash..but it is a beauty, and I was tickled 'blue' to find it this morning.

Okay ladies, I off to get some shut eye....another busy day finishing up orders and going to the dentist tomorrow.  Have a lovely day!
