Proud Mama, preparing for Sandy and Lookie what I won!

Morning everyone!
We, like so many others, are preparing for SANDY!  All the lawn furniture has been put away, flags are in, the chicken coop has been doubly protected and the girls are strangely quiet this morning, as we sit on the hill above Owasco Lake in the fog...waiting for the winds to start.
We're cozy and warm inside...I found Jack on his back in front of the wood stove sound asleep this morning.

I hope I don't bore any of you, but I have to share a little happening in our family this morning...and it involves that PROUD MAMA syndrome!  This morning our son, Drew was interviewed by the regional talk radio station, WHCU 870 AM.   I hope you will follow this LINK to the pod cast, look for the Drew Montreuil, Meteorologist pod cast in the list, and take a listen...it lasts about 5-6 minutes. Of course the big news here is Sandy, and since Drew is a local meteorologist, they wanted to interview him on his take on the impending weather.  I am amazed at how poised and articulate he is...and he's only 23!  After the interview was over, I turned to my hubby, gave him a hug and started to tear up!  I'm such a sap when it comes to my kids, but I am a proud mother and wanted to share it with you.

I have been very lucky lately with the giveaways (even if I didn't win anything in Brenda's Winter Wonderland giveaway-boohoo).  I won this adorable Halloween cat and three wonderfully prim pumpkins from Angie of Little Raggedy Angie.  She was having a giveaway on Facebook and I was the winner!  I was so excited and just received them on Saturday!  Aren't they great?  Thank you Angie!
Wish you could see the faces on her little string of pumpkins - so cute!

I also received my giveaway win from Lucy over at The Farmer's Attic.  She was giving away a copy of "Primitive Quilts & Projects".  It is jam-packed with wonderfully prim quilts and wall-hangings.
If you love Prim and Quilts, this is a must-have publication and I'm so happy I won! Thank you Lucy!

I love this wall quilt!
Okay gals, I have a lot of things of my to-do list today, so I'd better get back to it.  Hope you all stay safe!

*WARM BLESSINGS*
