A day later than promised, but here at the pictures of our new home and what we have done to the rooms so far. One of the things that really bothered me about the house was that everything was a shade of gray, except in the 'carriage room' which had one entire wall of yucky dark mustard color. So we set right to work adding some color to the rooms and here are the results so far. I still have a lot of 'stuff' to put up on the walls, but at least I think we are just about ready for company on Saturday. Hope you enjoy these before and after pics.

Parlor before (it was nice then, but lacked color) |
Parlor now - pardon the boxes and unfilled bookcase. The new color is called Caramel. It looks gold in this picture but isn't. | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
I had to make so with the curtain available to me, but plan to sew some to go with the room.
Master bedroom before |
Master bedroom now (until I get curtains made and 'stuff' up on the walls) and get Mr. Whimzie a new nightstand - hehe...see to the left...he's using a box for his bedside table! |
Master bath before (sorry about the lid being up) I took this picture when we were just looking at the house. |
Master bath so far - I want to replace the sink and medicine cabinet. I think they started to redo this bathroom, as all the light fixtures are new, but the rest still could use a redo. |
This mustard wall ran the full length of this wall...include the door! Yuck. |
This is a Benjamin Moore color - Sienna Red -it's a little darker than it shows up and made the room so much more cozy. |
Hope you enjoy the pictures gals - The next few days will be pretty busy, so I may not post again until Monday, but I will be checking your comments. Enjoy your weekend dears! Hopefully I will be back to regular blogging soon.
Oh...I wanted to ask if any of you country gals use a broadband mobile hotspot of your internet access. That is what Mr. Whimzie decided on, and I was wondering how much download capability we should get...and only you who blog and visit lots of blogs would know.
Thanks everyone - I'll post pictures of the big reception on Sunday sometime next week-Hugs and Prim Blessings to all.
Everything looks great! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYAY! Congratulations Wendy - so much hard work - your colors really bring in warmth! Enjoy! (I don't know how to technically refer to it, but we use our cell phones to connect and it's touch & go) ~*~Lisa

Wow Wendy...you've transformed the rooms! Just beautiful!! I love your color choices....not sure about the broadband...I don't know exactly what we have; prob not the fastest I'm sure!

Wowsers, Wendy...you have been a busy, busy, gal!! Love all your transformations!! And it's looking so much like home!! Yea!! Re mobile broadband...tried it and got stuck - they said reception in this area was "iffy" but we had a 30 day trial period. Worked awesome for 32 days and then...boo hoo...went days and weeks without reception and service and am now stuck in a long-term contract....but had no problem when it did work with download limits UNLIKE Hughesnet which I tried when broadband didn't work....I have to be very careful - if blog sites have slideshows or music, etc. it zaps 10-15% of my limit in one site... HATE it!! And the way it works is horrible...I can be 2 minutes away from have my limit restored, and if I happen to exceed w/in those 2 minutes, I have to wait another 24 hours before it's restored again - not just the 2 minutes....And if you're away for a week or so and aren't using your internet, it's not "banked" in any manner - you have to try to catch up and not exceed the limit.....Hate, hate, HATE it!!! Good luck Sweetie!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
