Just for fun, I thought I would share some pictures of Christmases long, long ago. The first is of my sister and I - we loved our talking Cecil dinosaurs (anyone remember Cecil and Beanie from the cartoons). The year was 1963 I believe.
The next picture is actually of me as a baby - only two weeks old - I was born on Dec. 13th. Many years later, I would have the thrill of having a baby of mine own around Christmas time - our youngest, Drew, was born on Dec. 5th. There is something special about holding a tiny babe on Christmas!
Believe it or not, I haven't made a single Christmas cookie yet, but I'm hoping to get most of my baking done tomorrow. I have one more half day to work this week, then we can truly begin the celebration of our dear Savior's birth! I hope you are all having a wonderful week. I'll be back before Christmas to say hello, then I'm off for at least a week, as we have traveling to do and company coming after Christmas. Stay warm! God bless!
Thanks for sharing, I love looking at old

ReplyDeleteWendy,
ReplyDeleteDon't remember Cecile and Beanie as I think you are a few years older than me, if you have the date right on your picture. I will have to ask my sister as she's 3 years older if she remembers them.
My oldest was born on the 22nd of December so we really had a Christmas babe.
Have fun baking.
