Happy Monday!

Hello to all my blogging buddies!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend.  Ours was very busy but also very fun!  The kids were all home and on Friday we went to the homecoming football game...great game as we won against our rivals 28-6.  Saturday we went to the corn maze nearby.  We started doing this several years ago and the kids (even tho they are 25 and 21) still look forward to it every year.  We have a ton of fun.

I just love all of the colors of Fall!

Our oldest son...having a bit of fun with the corn silk!

Saturday evening was a special Mass and celebration for our visiting priest, who was marking his 25th year of being a priest.  He helped out at parish parish several years ago, but is from Nigeria, and will be returning to his country next week.  Sunday my parents and nephew came for a visit and it was such a lovely day...topped off with stuffed porkchops and apple dumplings for dessert.  As with all weekends, this one too came to an end, as my parents and our oldest son and his wife returned home and our youngest son drove back to college.  Chris and I feel so blessed that our kids actually like to spend time with us - guess we did a good job of raising them!

Tomorrow I will be posting the giveaway item!  I PROMISE!  lol

Eye candy

Thought I would share a few pictures of some of the quilts I have made over the years.  Enjoy!
This was a block of the month quilt from Simply Quilts (old HGTV show)

This one I did shortly after 9-11.  The label on the back is a remembrance of those who died that day.

My personal favorite...well...maybe...I love them all.

This one I made for my youngest son Drew when he was much younger.
So many quilts I still want to make.  I have three in the works right now.
Picture of the cake I made for our celebration tomorrow.
I just wanted to apologize for not getting my swap item up as promised this week.  It's been so hectic and I just now got to the store to get the finishing touches I needed.  We have a busy weekend planned with all the kids here, homecoming football game, big party for our friend, Father Peter, who is celebrating his 25th year in the priesthood, and my parents are planning to visit on Sunday.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  God bless!

Updates

I know I have promised a picture of the giveaway item for my 100 Followers mark - and I haven't forgotten.  I was hoping to make more progress on it yesterday, but ended up spending a long time at work talking to our priest.  He just came to our parish a short time ago, so it was nice to get to know him more, and give him a bit of history about our church.  Anyway, I am hoping by tomorrow or Wednesday to have the giveaway item posted.

I was also thinking of starting another page on my blog just for recipes.  I have so many I would like to share...I'll try to get that done sometime soon too (he he  like I don't have enough going on right now).   I'm in three swaps at the moment, in addition to trying to get ready for a show.

Tomorrow we go to spend the day with our youngest son at college.  It's Parents Weekend.  I'm not certain what we will be doing, but just getting to spend some time with him will be nice.  Perhaps a visit to Chimney Bluffs on the shores of Lake Ontario...if the weather cooperates.   Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  God bless!

Busy busy

This time of the year is always so busy.  I only do craft shows in the Fall and Winter, so I'm super busy trying to make things for those.  In addition, my new part-time job is taking it's share too. Add on top of that trying to take care of the harvest from the garden, and there just doesn't seem to be a spare minute!  Here's just a few things I've been working on.  I'm so excited to have gotten some new patterns today and can't wait to get started on those!  Have a great day everyone.
Two of the Santas I have made so far.  They are available for sale on my blog as well.  Price for each is $22.95 plus $4.95 S&H  I just love these guys - their beards are pure sheep wool from my friend's sheep. I'm so lucky to have two bags full of it.  One cream colored and the other black.

Remember the apples in the display chain the other day?  They are now yummy applesauce!  My husband made the wooden box cover for my mixer - He did a great job!

A little basket of goodies I prepared for the neighbors.  I made a big batch of cranberry nut granola and included some of that, a jar of the applesauce, some fresh baked cookies and one of my little fabric pumpkins.
I got my granola recipe from Stone Gable, and added my own extras to it.  They have lots of yummy food recipes.  Check out the caramel apples featured today.

Passing on the 'blogging award"

I just received a blogging award from my friend, Christine at Preferable Prim.  I will accept because she has made it fun, by nominating 15 others to share the award.  In addition, she has included 7 things about herself...which I will do also.  I only ask that if you choose to accept the award, that you post the same, and link back to me.  I feel that this is not so much an award for individuals, but a continued sharing of our blogging friendships!  I therefore, nominate, in no particular order:
